What's going on
Amnesty International reported in December 2024 that Serbian police installed NoviSpy and used Cellebrite tools on journalists' and activists' phones, often during detention; Cellebrite stopped serving Serbia in February 2025, and two BIRN journalists were found targeted with Pegasus in March 2025. Freedom House downgraded Serbia to Partly Free (67/100). No platforms are blocked.
