What's going on
Freedom House rates Mexico Partly Free (61/100) and reports no blocked networks, platforms or websites. In April 2025 the president dropped a proposal that would have let authorities block platforms without a court order, but July 2025 laws created a biometric-linked mobile user registry and real-time location access. Court documents showed Pegasus was used against at least 456 people in 2019.
